Idolit/vaikutteet: Angelique “Angel” Juliette Roberson, AKA Smoke, has always had a song to sing. Her family was very diverse when it came to music while she was growing up. A walk through that home would find her dad listening to Blues and Jazz while mom played Motown, one of her brothers often playing Parliament & assorted Funk, another brother Blues and Country, a sister obsessed with Disco, and the rest spanning from Classic Rock to Gangtsa Rap. When it comes to music, Smoke enjoys and performs well, just about everything. In such a musically rich environment, Smoke was able to do what she loved to do most, sing. A focus on performance skills in the local churches as a solo artist broadened even wider with the addition of her sessions alongside, and member of, different church choirs in the area producing an amazingly rich tone that soothes the soul, relaxes the mind and never misses. Smoke’s voice has now been rediscovered and following a few months of dedicated writing, recording, production, and preparation; Smoke and label mate ZIB were poised to begin releasing singles in June 2011.
