There's a hanging tree,
Out there in the woods,
By the stream,
I hung myself,
Last night,
In my dream.

It gave me comfort,
As I hung amidst the leaves,
I was but one rustling,
In the nearby trees.

Then they took me down,
Threw me back to life,

I'll have a dream,
Of a knife.
