All sounds come from Korg Delta analog synth. The drums are sampled without any special treatment, except that in 3:08 I beefed up the sounds by adding external bassdrum and rimshot samples which are not from Delta.
The sequenced riffs are made using the trig input so that the synth can be triggered from an outboard sequencer.
Outboard effects used:
Boss RCE-10
EHX Small Stone
Korg SDD-1200
MXR Distortion +
Roland SDE-2000
TC-Electronic reverbs
Yamaha E1005
The Roland V-Synth is a serious machine full of features. But I decided to get rid of it after all these years amd made this piece as a memory. Only V-Synth XT is used here with some external reverbs. The Vocal Designer and D-50 features are not used.
The goodbye piece for my good old Virus b... It's truly a classic virtual analog synth! I was really getting some second thoughts about selling it when making this piece... Virus has a very broad sound pallette and pleasant overall sound. In the piece you can hear also some of it's digital nature - it's not limited to only analog emulations.
All sounds come from a Virus b synth. Additional effects are used but only slightly, like some chorus and reverb although there's virus' own reverb also. I used the vocoder function too with the beats.
Some great analog sound from one of the last vintage analogs. It's the Akai VX-90 from year 1986, a synth with true VCOs. All sounds are from the VX-90, some external effects are also used but mainly on the delay department.
Effects:
Korg SDD-1200 (delay, chorus)
Roland SDE-2000, delay
Roland RS-505, chorus
MXR Phase 100
TC-Electronic DVR2, VSS3 (Reverb)
Some analogue sound for a change. This piece is made with only multitracking Yamaha SK-20 synthesizer. Additional effects are also used.
The SK-20 is my first analog synth and I have used it a lot for it's good sound. The synth is kind of versatile while not very deep programming-wise. There are organ, synthesizer and a very limited string-synth sections. Nice basic sounds are available but not any fancy modulation-stuff is possible. I had to make this piece before selling the synth - it has served well on many of my albums. The piece is not the most original composition but it's good...
Let's start this project with some 80's vintage. All the sounds used in this piece are from Casio CZ-3000 digital synthesizer. Additional effects were also used.
I was in a hurry to produce this piece because I sold the synth and hadn't used it in anything yet. While making the piece I began to be a bit fond of the sound of the Casio CZ synth. The overall sound quality is obviously somewhat lo-fi, but it still can deliver surprisingly wonderful sounds. The phase-distortion synthesis of the CZ-series makes quite a variety of sounds possible and it even can produce some analog style stuff....
A beautiful piece with sensitivity.
It's more 80's vintage with the Roland D-50. All the sounds are from Roland V-Synth XT's built in D-50 synthesizer. The classic D-50 is fully revived in this expansion, but I learned that there are also some additional samples not found in the original D-50. I think I used some of those in some sounds I programmed for this piece. Outboard effects were also used.
I hadn't used the D-50 before this on anything because I don't like it's sound that much. I took the time to program some sounds and found out that you can get something usable out of it....
